Hello again, and welcome to another B2 Hookah blog post. This week, I'm going to be talking about my personal favorite bowl on the market. Truth be told, I actually have two. Hookah bowls are an important part in any great hookah session, as it's literally where your smoke comes from. You can pack the best damn bowl of your life, but if the bowl isn't good enough to back it up, the session can be sub par. Because of this, you want to make sure that you have a great bowl to complement your packing style. Without further ado, lets jump into it!
The Mason Onyx Bowl
The Mason bowl is one of my two favorite hookah bowls. Why, you may ask? Well, there are a few reasons. First off, the Mason bowl is an innovative product. It starts off with a special proprietary clay mixture called "Shishaware", which helps in providing excellent heat retention. The Shishaware mixture is also very nonporous, which means that it's very resistant to ghosting, and allows you to keep your flavors pure. In addition to this, the Onyx bowl is also very shallow, which allows for a very thorough cook of your shisha tobacco, with very little effort. It holds about 12-18g of tobacco, making it perfect for an hour to an hour and a half long session. That's perfect for me, as I usually only find myself smoking a single flavor for one round of coals, and this bowl allows me to get a perfect cook with absolutely no flavor loss, at the expense of no wasted shisha. The Onyx bowl also features a built in Mol-Catcher, which helps prevent juice from falling down your stem. This is a design that hasn't yet made it into any other hookah bowl, and it's just a little thing that goes to show how much thought went into the Mason Onyx bowl.
The Shishabucks Sky Bowl
The Shishabucks Sky bowl is my other pick for my favorite bowl on the market. The Shishabucks Sky bowl is one of the only metal hookah bowls on the market. While many may scoff at this concept, I disagree. Metal obviously is a great conductor of heat, as evidenced by the popularity and effectiveness of the Heat Management Devices that we love so much, like the Kaloud Lotus. So if you make a bowl out of metal, it allows you to have heat coming to your shisha from multiple directions, essentially providing a more thorough cook of your shisha. In addition to this, it allows you to have better control over how much heat you're getting to your bowl. Because metal heats and cools much faster than clay, it means you can put more heat on your bowl and it will have a much faster effect on your session than it would if you were to use metal, as well as the opposite effect if you were to remove heat from the bowl. So with this, you can essentially have a better control of how much heat is getting to your bowl, raising the effectiveness of how you're cooking your shisha. If you think your bowl needs more heat, you can get it there faster. If the bowl is smoking a little hot, you can remove heat and save the session. In addition to this, to prevent total heat loss, there's a silicone sleeve on the bowl to help keep heat in the bowl, as well as being a handle to grab the bowl while hot. The bowl also doesn't waste shisha - it holds about 20-25g of shisha tobacco, and results in an hour and a half to two hour session. If that's a bit much for your taste, they also just released their Sky Mini bowl, which features the same properties as the already amazing Sky bowl, but holds much less tobacco. Being metal also means that you can't micro-fracture the bowl, as there isn't any glaze to crack, so you can quickly cool your bowl under water and immediately pack another bowl afterwards.
Best Hookah Bowls?
These, in my opinion, are some of the best bowls on the market, if not the best. Granted, this is just my opinion, and I am just one man. That said, they're absolutely solid bowls, and they'll absolutely help in making your sessions great. Of course, the key to any successful bowl is in your packing method, and your heat management skills. Though, it certainly helps to have the tools to better your sessions. What do you think? Do you agree with me? What are your favorite bowls? Let me know! I love hearing your feedback, and it helps the community grow as a whole. Drop your thoughts in the comments below! As always guys, thanks so much for reading, and happy smokes!
